Jogja National Museum, June 4, 2018. ARTJOG - ENLIGHTENMENT has been held for 32 days at Jogja National Museum. Hundreds of artwork presentations from 54 visual artists and various of performances from 88 performers which summarized in Daily Performance program was succeed to satisfy all kind of visitor’s senses. The supporting program such as Meet the Artist and Curatorial Tour succeeded as a part of educational program for the public. As many as 20 Curatorial Tour sessions has been held for public visitors, institution visitors, students and children visitors. At last, Merchandise Project which was also successful to accommodate 82 artists/communities/creative workers to market their merchandise products in it.
As many as 60.000 visitors have been visited and enjoyed this annual art exhibition since it was open at May 4, 2018. ARTJOG was also being visited by governmental officials, both from domestic and abroad, such as Denmark Ambassador for Indonesia, Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, Belgian Ambassador for Indonesia, Patrick Herman, Singaporean Ministry of Tourism, Grace Fu, General Director of Indonesian Tourism, Hilmar Farid, Vice Chairman of DPR RI, Fadli Zon, and Head of BEKRAF, Triawan Munaf which visited ARTJOG twice, at the opening day and a few days after that with one of his daughters, Sherina. Other than that, a row of public figures also came for a visit such as Slamet Rahardjo, Ayu Laksmi, Doni Damara, Keenan Pearce, Renita Sari, Yovie Widianto, Dimas Djayadiningrat, and Didik Nini Thowok.
For the closing night, ARTJOG presenting a special show from Tulus, a singer and songwriter who is proficient at singing love themed songs which frequently seen in everyday life, with a typical singing style. As a note, Tulus also took part in presenting his collaboration artwork with Davy Linggar at ARTJOG 2018. Another performance in the closing night was Stars and Rabbit, a duo folk group with unique vocal exploration and enticing song’s themes, with their fascinating performance. And at last, Megahit Selection enliven the closing night through a DJ set play which brought back the dance floor glory of 80-90’s music atmosphere.
"We hope, ARTJOG becomes a blessing for all of us and be beneficial especially for the people of Jogjakarta and Indonesia in general," said Heri Pemad, ARTJOG’s Director, in his speech at ARTJOG’s closing night. "And along with gratitude for all of this abundance, ARTJOG 2018 is officially closed," he continues, followed with a loud applause from all of the guests and visitors who was attended.
