Concept

Yuli Prayitno membalik metode kerjanya layaknya seorang arkeolog menemukan sejarah benda.

Yuli Prayitno reverses his work method like an archeologist who finds a historical object. After finding it, later he traces its history and the reference behind it. He believes that script has its own power over the knowledge of material. By reversing his work method, Yuli has the freedom to pick the wanted source.

Chair, as an object, is a form and at the same time the artistry area that Yuli chooses. He presents two chairs, with peranakan (Chinese) style, and adds to them another object; silkworm and ceramic. By doing that, he also presents the element of humor. Literature and us, often trap us with the dogma that requires man and woman to follow the values set by social agreement. In fact, anybody can be anything.
