Hypertext, Senjakala Berhala dan Antitesis #1

180 x 400 cm | Acrylic and marker on canvas

2017

Concept

Text attacks every aspect of our life, from the time we close our eyes until we close it. We can't even count how many text recorded in our memory. Turning on the television, opening the laptop or even reading a book or a newspaper, text is dominant. Moreover, walking in mall or supermarket, we can easily find the advertisement and the poster with its striking colors and sometimes what we read is not directly proportional to the existed fact. Through this awareness I try to construct an autocriticism to the news in our mass media which sometimes gives us a news not based on the existed fact; misleading, exaggerating and tends to "burn" us in order to put out our criticism towards the content of the news itself.
