Two videos taken from a mobile vehicle, in a city where I live, Singapore. One captures the bougainville at the side of the road, the other the city landscape in dawn. For some time, my works tend to question about the relation between time and beauty. Lately, I also took interest in the using of light and shadow (as the agent of time) to evoke the experience of grand beauty. Glitter and colors have become some elements which often appear in my works at least in the last three years, the quality, what I can understand now, as a part of our escape from reality, our desire for charm and longing for something. Beyond the obvious. The utopia of surface is a physical land, the one that I created in my world, thus I often use element of craft in my work, pairing some methods like sewing, knitting, beads etc to create a visual sensation which lies between the real and the imaginary.
