Konsep Karya
Human has utilized rubber in their lives for a long time. Through its elastic nature, rubber has an ability to adapt to pressure, friction, pull and hot temperature.
 
From its various rubber processing, rubber bracelet is one of the most popular products, especially its function as something to bind food wrapper and hair tie. Like other static object, rubber bracelet has its own uniqueness, from the natures of its form and the limits of treatment it can receive.
 
From the statements mentioned above, the natures of formation that rubber bracelet have could become something interesting as a reference to produce art works. This statue installation tries to take such nature and applies it in a series of piece of rubber bracelet in various forms to fill every side of exhibition room as an effort to depict the parable of tolerant and intolerant problem. The title itself "toleransintoleransi" is used as a signifier of the effort to understand the problems of life through visual art.


Karet sebagai material telah cukup lama dimanfaatkan manusia dalam kehidupan. Melalui sifat kelenturannya, karet memiliki kemampuan untuk beradaptasi terhadap tekanan,  gesekan, tarikan, serta panas.
 
Dari berbagai hasil pengolahan karet, karet gelang merupakan salah satu produk  yg sangat populer,terutama dalam penggunaannya sebagai alat pengikat bungkusan makanan dan ikat rambut. Seperti benda- benda diam lainnya,  karet gelang diciptakan dengan keunikan tersendiri  melalui sifat-sifat  kebentukan  serta  batas- batas perlakuan yang dapat diterimanya .
 
Dengan pernyataan-pernyatan yang ada diatas, sifat-sifat kebentukan yang dimiliki karet gelang menjadi sangat menarik  untuk  dijadikan acuan dalam menghasilkan  karya-karya seni. Instalasi patung ini mencoba mengambil sifat tersebut dan mewujudkannya  dalam  rangkaian potongan  karet gelang dalam berbagai ukuran untuk  mengisi setiap sisi ruang pamer sebagai sebuah usaha mendapatkan  bentuk  perumpamaan  dari persoalan-persoalan  toleransi dan intoleransi. Judul “toleranintoleransi” digunakan sebagai penanda upaya memahami  persoalan-persoalan kehidupan melalui seni rupa.
